Aurum potestas est.

The Guild Gold Edition + The Guild 2 + The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas, the entire collection of the fun and complex medieval European dynasty sims, including two titles released today, is available bundled 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $11.97 for the set of three for the next 72 hours!

Europe, 1400 A.D. - The last crusade, which started 6 years before, ended in a horrible defeat when the crusaders failed to conquer Nikopolis before being reached by the armies of Osmans and Serbs. The dream of conquering Jerusalem is forgotten, and European authorities are well aware that over the coming centuries, they will be submerged into defending themselves against the Osman forces, which have several outposts in Eastern Europe. The Roman Catholic church is in a state of devastating dispute and intrigue, and uprisings are clearly just around the corner.

The Guild Series Bundle brings two new titles to GOG.com. The Guild 2 is a unique mixture of RPG and life simulation in an immerse middle ages scenario. The player and his party become part of history and can even change it in real-time. Go back to the dark middle ages and found a new dynasty. Take care of yourself, because your opponents never sleep. Marry a beautiful wife and make new friends; control your life. Hand down your skills and your descendants will greatly appreciate it. The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas is a stand-alone expansion that transforms the game into an even greater experience by adding a huge area including the cities of "The Hanse" located at the shores of the European seas. Sea battles and naval trading are added to the gameplay, and a new campaign mode provides more than 10 hours of additional fun.

For the next 72 hours you can transport yourself into the European middle ages and start your very own dynasty of money-grabbing power-mongers with The Guild Series Bundle, for only $11.97. The games are also available separately, for $4.99 each. Titles already owned count towards the bundle completion and the higher discount rate. The offer lasts until Sunday, March 2, at 10:59AM. After that, the series receives permanent 20% off discount for those getting all three titles.
Excellent release, another huge thanks to Nordic Games!

ThomNG: We have not expected so many requests on the German language but as they have occured, as, followed after that, also GOG asked us if we can't add them and as we understand the wish that especially on a German game German language should be there, we just send the German language packs for The Guild 1 Gold, The Guild 2 and The Guild 2 Pirates of the European Seas over to the GOG team. As long as no technical issues are occuring (especially on Guild 1 Gold in terms of compatibility with newer OS etc.) I am expecting them to be added soon.
While I don't benefit from German language packs as I don't speak the language, I just had to give credit for excellent customer support. Its always refreshing to see that nowadays.
low rated
Already have both Guild 1 Gold and Guild 2 Gold on GamersGate, and i paid less than this for them in a sale - which included the extra content GOG isn't offering.

Alfie3000: Thanks! I remember the Under Jolly Roger song and Port Royal. Now to find the discs.
Have you heard the cover of Under Jolly Roger by Therion?

And don't forget some Alestorm to go with your high seas plunder:

We can never have too many pirate-related games. :)
I love this game. It's about time, GOG. But why not all of Guild 2, especially Renaissance?
Thanks for this. Wishlisted for now.

RadonGOG: Why is the german language pack missing in this release? :(
That doesn´t make any sence! It was a german game, why can it even be not in there?!

Well, that is a nice plus.

BUT what about the existing technical issues also called bugs in the game. Have they been fixed now?

A question, if anyone is willing/able to answer.

I've come across that "Pirates of the European Seas" or perhaps "Renaissance" are stand-a-lone expansions. Reading about it, in general, you don't need the base game to install and play a "stand-a-lone" expansion. But, if you do own the base game, will it add on to the base game the way a normal expansion does?
I recommend installing the "sovereign edition" fan addon, it vastly improves the games, fixes many problems and is a bit better than the newer addon Renaissance which is from the same guys.

And out of all bloody days DotEmu is down (for me) so I can't redownload my Guild 2 Gold edition after I deleted it as I thought I wouldn't need it when I had purchased Renaissance.

Do you have any experience with the mod yourself or only read about it? After reading about it myself it looks like it's similar to Legacy Mod for Renaissance but I read that it still has peculiar save and crash issues as well as a ridiculous increase in difficulty.

I played all three alot, lots and lots. Really no point to play vanilla. Renaissance has some new stuff, but lacks many of the new features of the Sovereign Edition. And those features are more fun.

Oh, and the AI is a total pushover in Renaissance, in the SE it keeps up better.

Ah, you're correct - I bought The Guild Complete Collection (just checked my GG account :)

http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DDB-GUILD/the-guild-complete-collection-bundle

It too was cheaper than what GOG is offering in a sale, though, and includes Pirates, Venice and Rennaissance. Weird that's not being offered on GOG?
